Alice Marsh. Born at Brownhill Row, Stocksbridge, Yorkshire in 1865. In 1885 she made the long journey, with her husband and her new baby, from Stocksbridge to a new life in America. She lost her baby soon after arriving in Utah. It is said that throughout her long life she often wept over the loved ones she left behind and knew she would never see again. By the time her mother Ellen died in 1931, they had not seen each other for 46 years.
