2... Henry LANE. Born 6 Jun 1830 in Bradford, Yorkshire, he was Chr on 20 Jun 1830. He married, in 1850 in Bradford, Yorkshire, Bridget LYLES, (born 16 Mar 1818 in Bradford and Chr on 19 Apr 1818). On 21 May 1864 he led the first of 3 family emigrations to Utah, U.S.A. Despite it being the height of the American Civil War, he, together with his wife Bridget and their 13 year old daughter Ann LANE, sailed on the North American ship General McClellan from Liverpool to New York, (it was sunk on the return voyage to Liverpool by the Confederate Alabama) before taking the Mormon Church Train into the badlands of Wyoming to rendezvous with a wagon train, with which they then walked hundreds of miles through hostile territory into Utah. Henry LANE died 14 Apr 1906 in Ogden City, Weber County, Utah, U.S.A. Bridget LANE died 7 Dec 1891 in the same city. Their children.
