Dedication
This site is dedicated to the many good women and men who have worked to trace our Family Tree. It is especially dedicated to my cousin Virginia May Evans WALSH Pharis McKay (DINNIE), whose indefatigable efforts over many decades has provided us with a great quantity of documentation and uncovered much of the detail of the histories of our forebears.
My
American cousin Dinnie. She looked a lot like a cross between
my mother and my auntie Mary Marsden Firth, her 3rd cousins,
which is not
very surprising because all 3 were born within a few years over a century ago,
and their common ancestor was still alive only 25 years before that.
In the 1960s she worked at North American (Rockwell) on the second stage
of the Saturn 5 moon rocket.
She and her mum had been researching our family tree since the 1950s
and when we finally “compared notes” it was most satisfying to see
that files an inch thick matched point for point – plus all the extra work
Dinnie
had been doing while I was still in short pants.
I called her, and she called herself, mum.
