Bendy
The Bendy family originated in Wiltshire and was based mainly in and around the villages of Steeple Ashton and Edington.
William BENDY (My 7-times-Great Grandfather) was born about 1680. His son was:
Thomas BENDY (My 6-times-Great Grandfather), Chr 22 Sep 1711, buried 17 Apr 1765. He married Elizabeth B. (surname unknown), who was born abt. 1711 and buried 15 Sep 1758. Their son was:
James BENDY (My 5-times-Great Grandfather), Chr 12 Feb 1747 at Steeple Ashton, Wiltshire. He married, on 15 Apr 1771 at Edington, Jane PIKE (Chr 7 Jul 1744 at Edington), He was buried 21 Nov 1790 at Steeple Ashton. She was buried 28 Apr 1785 at Steeple Ashton. Their daughter was:
Elizabeth BENDY (My G-G-G-G-Grandmother), Chr 12 Nov 1775 at Steeple Ashton, Wiltshire. She married, abt 1800, William LATHROPE, (born 27 Oct 1774,Chr 16 Nov 1774 at Ottery St Mary, Devon). He died 18 Oct 1862 at Leicester. She died 6 Oct 1866 at Leicester and both are buried at Welford Road cemetery, Leicester. Their children.
